ICI Services Awarded NUWC Newport Weapons Analysis Facility Prime Contract

Virginia Beach, VA – ICI Services Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a prime contract to provide weapons simulator and laboratory operations support services to the Undersea Vehicles and Simulation Branch (Code 8133) Weapons Analysis Facility (WAF) at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWC Newport).
The WAF is a key component in the design and testing of advanced undersea weapon and countermeasure systems. It provides the resources needed for software used to produce, operate and maintain Lightweight and Heavyweight Torpedoes. It is also the test and evaluation center for all U.S. torpedo programs, design studies and proof of concepts.
Under the 3-year, $3.7 million contract, ICI Services will set up, maintain and operate the WAF’s computerized torpedo test simulators. ICI Services will perform modeling, simulation, and analysis; develop system design documentation and technical data; perform software engineering and development; provide network support; maintain system configuration management; and provide a broad range of information system development, information assurance and information technology.
Additionally, ICI Services will provide technical and operational support services for a number of Code 81 facilities including computer resources, operational support of computers for Weapons Systems projects and programs and Information Assurance security in the WAF and throughout Code 81.
Epsilon Systems Solutions and General Dynamics Information Technology are subcontractors to ICI Services on this contract.
ICI Services provides a wide range of support to NUWC Newport, including three other prime contracts for information technology, program management, financial management and human resources support. ICI Services also provides engineering and technical services at NUWC Newport under subcontracts to BAE Systems and L-3 Communications.
