ICI Services Awarded Navy Shipboard Fire Protection Systems Contract in Philadelphia

ICI Services Corporation has been awarded a five year, $5.4 million contract at the Naval Surface Weapons Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Philadelphia to support the design and implementation of Naval Shipboard Fire Protection Systems across all ship classes. The ICI Services’ team, led by program manager Jim Hill, has been providing the Navy Shipboard Damage Control and Fire Protection Systems design and in-service engineering services since 2006. ICI Services provides In-Service Engineering Agent support for Aqueous Film Forming Foam fire-fighting systems, including onboard troubleshooting and revisions to maintenance and operating procedures. ICI Services drafted the Naval Vessel Rules for water mist fire-fighting systems, and assisted with the conduct and evaluation of electrical safety tests.
Under this new contract, ICI Services will assess the adequacy of ship and systems designs, identify necessary changes and resolve concerns in areas of damage control, recoverability and fire and personnel protection. The company’s partners on this contract are: Hughes Associates, MPR Associates, Computer Sciences Corporation, OAK Management, McKean Defense Group and R&P Technology.
